Computer Software Technology Engineering
Computer Software Technology Engineering is one of the most practical and applied fields in Iran; which focuses on teaching basics of computers and many relevant applied skills.
Computers Department accepts students in non-continuous Bachelor’s program of Computer Software Technology Engineering. Compared to other engineering fields, this major has one of the most diverse markets. The graduates can work in various fields such as designing, developing or programming all sorts of software; designing and launching websites; designing and producing games and animations; systems analytics and design; as well as technical businesses like designing and installing many types of networks, offering computer graphical design services, assembly and sales and repair of hardware and software, etc.
The Non-continuous program curriculum is aligned with the curriculum enacted by Science Ministry. A good portion of courses in this level are held in workstations, which focus on most practical topics of computer studies. Those courses include various programming languages, databases, computer graphical designing, computers workstation, network workstation, OS workstation, network security, web-designing, computer simulation, software engineering, internet engineering, systems program-making, artificial intelligence, and technical language. Other courses of this major consist of basics of computers, which focus on theoretical aspects of computer studies. Those courses include algorithm designing, computer architecture, operating systems, assembly and machine language, as well as related mathematics. In the end of course, the students need to pass a practical project and apprenticeship for improving their applied skills.
Computer engineering is one of the most applied engineering fields in Iran; which focuses on the basic concepts of computer systems and their related practical skills.
Computers department accepts students in Computer Engineering field (without sub-majors). This is one of the most employable fields of study with a vast and diverse work market. The graduates might work in fields of practice including producing (programming all sorts of software, designing and launching many types of websites, designing and programming various games and animations, systems analytics and design); likewise, technical services such as (design and installation of different networks, computer graphical designing, assembly and sales of hardware and software, and hardware/software repair/maintenance).
Moreover, those interested in research and scientific business might become members of faculty in universities or research centers, school teachers, freelancer instructors, and ICT journalists or authors. Like many other modern fields of studies that are most wanted by organizations and institutes, these graduates are employable in private and public sectors as ICT experts, systems installation and maintenance experts, technical support experts, and sales/marketing officers.
The curriculum of Continuous Bachelors’ program is aligned with the curriculum enacted by Science Ministry. Those courses include algorithms designing, computer architecture, operating systems, machine language and assembly, and related mathematical courses. In the end of program, the students should pass apprenticeship and a practical project for improving their vocational skills.
This field has various branches in Masters and PhD levels. Masters sub-majors of computers include Software, Artificial Engineering, Computer Architecture, Algorithm and Calculations, Computer Networks, Secure Computing, and Bio-informatics. In PhD level, there are 4 majors: Software, Artificial Intelligence, network and computing, and computers architecture.
The curriculum of computers engineering-software in Masters’ program aligns with the curriculum enacted by Science Ministry. This curriculum focuses on up-to-date topics of software engineering world. The courses include image processing, advanced operating systems, data-mining, big-data systems and analytics, knowledge-base management, advanced database, search engine and web-mining, advanced computer networks, and evaluation of systems performance. Additionally, the students pass a two-unit course titled “Seminar with Research Methods” in masters’ program, so to learn access to scientific references and publishing articles in renowned conferences and journals.
