Introduction
Department of Accounting started its activity as of February 2007 by admitting students at non-continuous Bachelor’s degree level and it was licensed in Sep. 2007 for admission of students at continuous Bachelor’s Degree level in accounting. In addition, as of Sep. 2008, this Department admitted students at Associate’s degree level in financial and tax affairs. Finally, in Sep. 2015, this department admitted students at Master’s degree level in the field of accounting.

Accounting is a service activity of which its duty is to provide significant information about economic enterprises with an essentially financial nature. For this purpose, the duty of an accountant is to record and save financial information, to provide and analyze the results in form of reports to managers of organizations or companies to adopt proper, precise and due decisions. In fact, accounting can be defined as a way to control financial health, to evaluate financial assets, debts and cash flows, and to evaluate performance in businesses.
Job opportunities of an accountant are numerous including the lowest level to the highest level. In general, job opportunities for the graduates include employment in the areas of financial accounting, management accounting, tax affairs of corporates and legal entities, tax affairs of natural entities, capital market, accounting and budget of companies, governmental organizations and banks.
Some of the occupational skills required for employment in this profession include working with accounting softwares, issuing all accounting documents, preparing basic financial statements, preparing the reports of cost price of goods and services, recording and writing legal books, drawing up VAT reports, drawing up the reports of seasonal transactions, tax auditing and defense, drawing up operating tax declaration and sending the list of insurance and salary tax, mastery over financing methods, drawing up other required financial and managerial reports.
Moreover, some of the specialized skills required for employment in this field include mastery over various rules and regulations such as accounting standards, Direct Tax Law, VAT Law, bylaw of writing legal books, labor and social security laws, Commercial Law, banking rules and regulations, rules and regulations of capital market, and anti-money laundering law.
